One of the things I love about twitter is the challenge of communicating something in a brief space. 140 characters. That’s all you have to work with. Sure, you can still soapbox. But you had better make it brief. There is art in the challenge.
Now a new challenge has been integrated. A couple of tweeps (specifically @jeffisageek and @vivid13) have been posting 12 second videos, and it’s been a pretty cool experience. Bit-sized slices of life, 12 seconds at a time.
So I signed myself up and now I have a new goal: Make one 12 second video each day. Consider it my initial foray into film making. You see what I see. Two days and two videos in, I clearly need to work on keeping a steady camera. But when you are trying to record video in one take while playing a game or using off limbs to keep a dog out of the frame, there is clearly a high level of difficulty to the task.
I now present the world premiere of my two first 12 Second Films: an UNO game I played yesterday with the kids at work, and Elli showing her usual morning joy.
If you want to follow my series of (really, really, really) short films, I’ll have an RSS set up on the blog. I’ll also pump them straight to Twitter.
