I can’t even tell you how many times that video has been played at our house over the past 10 days. Clearly, I love it. And so does The Manny. But the primary requester is none other than Elli. I couldn’t be more proud. As a parent, I haven’t done my duty in making sure my kids are familiar with all things Star Wars, but this helps. A lot.
- I thought I had some good pranks in college, but mine paled in comparison to the cats who turned the Great Dome at MIT into R2-D2.
- Back in the day, I used to watch Muppet Babies every Saturday morning. In their opening sequence, there would be highlights of a Star Wars episode. And yet, I never had the opportunity to actually see that coveted episode. Well aren’t we just so glad it’s been preserved by The Smithsonian as a national relic Youtube?
- Best…DJ…EVAH. Probably not a fair fight, since he’s a Jedi.
- An awesome slide show on why KC should be one of the host cities for the 2018 World Cup.
- Interesting list on the largest soccer venues in the world. The shocker? #1 is in North Korea. 150,000 seat capacity. I mean, dang. That would be a lot of fannies in the seats. I’ve always been fascinated by large stadiums. I really want to see a college football game in a 100,000 seat stadium filled to capacity at some point. I’m not sure what kind of match in North Korea would draw 150,000 fans, seeing how the country isn’t all that open. But still, I’m totally going to sneak into the country see a match there when the country opens someday. I’m also totally working under the assumption that using strikethrough will keep the CIA from monitoring my site.
- I don’t really mind the taste of envelope glue. Ok, ok. I actually like it a little bit. But bacon flavored envelopes would definitely be an upgrade.
- Great essay on why the movie Precious is dangerous. I have yet to see it, mostly because I think the connections to the kids I work with would make the experience too emotional for me right now. But also because I’m frustrated with movies made about black kids (perhaps a post on this later). Ironically, there is an ad for The Blind Side adjacent the essay.
- Did the church play a role in the economic crash? Seems like a reasonable question to ask.
Video Bonus:
I’ve never seen a video fly across the internet hotter and faster than Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody. Over 4 million hits 4 days on Youtube. The instant classic to end all instant classics. But this other video has got to be the second best Bohemian Rhapsody offering on the internet.
Kid Quote of the Week:
Dad, it’s called a “wedgie”. When your panties are stuck in your bottom, it’s called a “wedgie”
- My 4 yr old daughter. Now I know what to call it if my panties are ever stuck in my bottom.
