Friday Funkfest. A recurring (almost weekly) flurry of quick hits, links, videos and thoughts. Clearly, the best way to waste time at work spend your lunch hour each and (almost) every Friday.
Leland Chee has a great job. He is the gatekeeper of all things Star Wars. A continuity specialist so to speak. He makes sure everything in the Star Wars universe stays congruent. Well, where in tarnation was Leland when this debacle went down? Sheeesh. I was willing to cut him some slack and assume he had a bad day back in 2008, but no. This wasn’t the first time a heresy farce like this was performed, nor was it the last. As much as I love Chewbacca and Darth, I do NOT need to see them thrusting their hips. Sick.
- Adidas is dropping some serious Star Wars gear next summer. It’s going to be hard to limit myself on this one. I think Ecko has better shirts and jackets, but I pretty much NEED the entire set of shoes. All of them.
- One of my favorite websites right now is Oddly Specific. It’s a collection of signs that are hilarious. (h/t @dahdscear).
- Have you ever wondered why male Beta fish can’t share a bowl? Well, there you go.
- Marko has a nice collection of questionable nativities. Not sure how he missed Star Wars Jesus. My mother-in-law has a huge set of nativities. This is clearly a gaping hole in her collection.
- Don’t celebrate Christmas? No prob, Bob. Merry Birdmas.
- And just in case you want to suck all the Christmas spirit out of the room.
- DaVinci. My favorite artist. Brilliant.
- David Brooks turned religious historian. I really like that guy. I hope I get to have dinner with him some day.
- Bono Tax. Technically, he can probably afford it.
