The Author

I love my wife.  I love our daughters. I love our son.  I love the fact that modern technology makes it possible for me to publish my internal monologue in real time.  I love conversing with people.  Pushing them.  Getting pushed back.  I love taking time to dig into the complexities of the difficult questions and realizing that the answers are multi-faceted.

I lament injustice.  I lament division.  I lament hate.  I lament that the solutions to the problems that our societies face require a certain level of abandon and discipline that most are unwilling to enter into.  I lament the state of racial and ethnic relations in our world.  I lament that gender inequality.  I lament brokenness.

I celebrate a God of wholeness and restoration.

I attempt to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with my God.

  1. Hi Christian,
Long time, no see. I hope things are going well – heard you were in Portland not so long ago. I was excited to send you a message because I am going to be in Kansas City at the end of July and hoped to see you (and your family), but Kent recently told me you had already moved on. Perhaps some other time then.
Like the website by the way.

  2. Hey Christian,

I’ve really been enjoying your FB posts lately. Can’t say I’m a blazers (or NBA) fan myself, but I do enjoy your enthusiasm. I just discovered your blog today and I’m really impressed. You are a true inspiration to me, despite the short time that I have known you and your amazing family, and I’m looking forward to seeing what tidbits of wholesome goodness I am going to read in the coming days and weeks both here and on FB. Hopefully we can get together again sometime, maybe Sarah and I can cook dinner for you next time I come down to the good ole Sterling College! Thanks for being a friend and a true inspiration to me, especially as I grow in my faith and attempt to answer many of the questions that you have addressed here. See you soon (hopefully).

    Josh
